What's A-Parent

Mom's Illustrations Of Motherhood Has Moms And Dads Around The World Saying 'Same'

Three a.m. crying, inopportune late-night feeding times, early mornings and all.

What's A-Parent is a series highlighting those who get real about the hardships that come with raising kids. These often untold stories help show parents they are not alone in their struggle, and are doing an amazing job.

It ain't easy being a mom (or any parent tbh) but the benefits of sweet hugs and kisses from adorable rugrats are so worth it. Still, with the cuteness comes the messes, bedtime struggles, and some whining. English artist Philippa Rice had moms and dads around the world saying, "same" with her hilariously accurate comic strip of a day-in-her-life of motherhood — 3 a.m. crying, inopportune late-night feeding times, early mornings and all.

In honor of #HourlyComicDay, an annual social media event in which participants draw one short comic for every hour they're awake, Rice gave Twitter an inner look at her mommy-life. Catch a glimpse below.

Of course, many parents found Rice’s doodles entirely too relatable.

Rice isn't the only parent who has illustrated the realities of having kids. Artists like Joy Hwang, Liesbeth Ton, and Nathalie Jomard have also created masterpieces of the joys and pains of parenthood. Whether it's strategically trying to get your kid to eat veggies, coming up with a silly rap song to keep your tots entertained, or just sketching some sweet real-life moments, parenting is always more fun with a little creativity.
