These Dancers Protest Against Gun Violence In A Heartbreaking Routine In The Desert

"In a world where you can be anything, be kind."

The Way You Move celebrates dancing and choreography videos that showcase fancy footwork in genres as diverse as ballet, hip-hop, tap, ballroom, and more. Learn a new routine the first Thursday of each month, and throughout the calendar when you get the urge to move.

Over the last few weeks, students have protested against gun violence through walkouts and marches across the country, including March 24th's March For Our Lives event in Washington, D.C.

And in a dance video uploaded to Chelsea Jennings' YouTube channel, Jennings' showcases a dance routine she directed and choreographed to take a stand against gun violence, too. It is set in a desolate landscape.

"In a world where you can be anything, be kind. We hope to spread awareness, support and love to those in need. We believe in a brighter tomorrow. We are the future," she captions on the video.

The video begins with dancers holding up signs with statistics regarding school shootings and gun violence in America, as well as others reading "enough is enough" and "I don't want to be another statistic." The dancers are also "dressed in orange in honor of 14-year-old Parkland shooting victim and dancer Jaime Guttenberg," Dance Spirit explains.

With that, they perform to Birdy's "People Help the People," an emotional track featuring lyrics including: "People help the people / And if you're homesick, give me your hand and I'll hold it / People help the people / And nothing will drag you down."

As the video continues, the dancers continue to present us with words, showing signs reading, "If nothing changes, nothing changes" and, lastly, "we are the future."

"This is absolutely beautiful. You're amazing Chelsea, thank you for doing this. Amazing job to all of the girls," one viewer comments on the video.

Guttenberg's dad also tweeted his reaction to the video:
