People Are Taking Selfies With Veggies, And Here's Why You Should Too

Put the "selfless" back in selfie.

Whenever you look on Instagram, you're almost guaranteed to see your fair share of brunch pics, sunset landscapes, and of course, selfies. While selfies may seem like the ultimate form of social media self-absorption, some Instagram users are taking selfies for a selfless — and totally awesome — cause.

As part of Naked Juice's #DrinkGoodDoGood campaign, the company has pledged to donate 10 pounds of free, fresh fruit and vegetables to people living in food deserts. All Instagram users have to do is take a selfie with a fruit or veggie, caption the picture with the hashtag #DrinkGoodDoGood, and tag Naked Juice.

Over 10,000 posts have used the hashtag so far, meaning more than 100,000 pounds of healthy fruit and vegetables will be given to those who need it most. While all the campaign's participants are drinking and looking good, they're doing even better.

While some vegaccessorized ...

... Others went full fruital.

These kids might not have Instagram accounts of their own, but their cute selfies still prove it's never too early to form healthy habits.

Even those without opposable thumbs are getting in on the altruistic fun.

With a simple point and shoot — and, of course, fruit — thousands of people have helped thousands more gain easy access to healthful, whole foods.

Add some strawberries to your next selfie, and you'll be doing some serious good, too.
