This 12-Year-Old Singing Ventriloquist Started 'America's Got Talent' On A High Note

Darci Lynne blew the judges away.

The latest season of America's Got Talent premiered Tuesday night, with a host of new and exciting acts auditioning for the judges. One of the highlights of the first night was Darci Lynne Farmer, a 12-year-old with a unique talent for ventriloquism.

Darci Lynne and her bunny friend Petunia charmed the judges before she even began performing. When asked why she wanted to audition for the show, she told Simon Cowell, "It was one of my big dreams, but also I would like to keep ventriloquism alive, because it's not common, you know?"

Her refreshing take on a classic act promises to do just that. Darci Lynne does more than just talk for Petunia — she also sings. For their audition, Petunia gave an amazing performance of "Summertime." Darci Lynne tried to join in as well, but the bunny had other ideas.

The pair received a standing ovation from the audience and the judges. Mel B was particularly blown away. "You make my heart melt," she told Darci Lynne. Then she showed just how much she loved the act by hitting the Golden Buzzer to send Darci Lynne straight into the live shows.
