The Beautiful Way Billie Lourd Paid Tribute To Mom Carrie Fisher, One Year Later

"I love you times infinity."

Wednesday marked the one-year anniversary of Carrie Fisher's death. Her daughter, Billie Lourd, acknowledged the date with a tribute on social media — and a beautiful trip in her mother's honor.

The 25-year-old actress posted photos on Instagram of her visit to Norway to see the aurora borealis, or northern lights. According to People, she traveled there with her father Bryan Lourd, to pay tribute to her mother's interest in the phenomenon.

"My momby had an otherworldly obsession with the northern lights, but I never got to see them with her," Lourd wrote alongside stunning images from the visit. "We journeyed to northern Norway to see if we might 'see the heavens lift up her dark skirts and flash her dazzling privates across [our] unworthy irises'. And she did. I love you times infinity."

The quote Lourd included about seeing "the heavens lift up her dark skirts" is from a story Fisher herself wrote about the northern lights for Port Magazine in 2013, which Lourd linked in her Instagram bio. In October, Lourd paid tribute to her mother by getting a celestial tattoo on her ankle, reminiscent of Fisher's own.

Late Wednesday, Lourd also remembered her grandmother Debbie Reynolds, who passed away a day after Fisher, with an old photo of Reynolds and Fisher together. Earlier this year, Lourd told Ellen DeGeneres that losing both women was "completely surreal."

Fans and friends spent the day remembering Fisher on social media. That includes her Star Wars co-star Mark Hamill, who posted a trio of images and quoted a line from the latest film in the series, The Last Jedi: "No one's ever really gone." He added the hashtags #AlwaysWithUs and #CarrieOnForever.

Even Fisher's therapy dog Gary paid tribute to his late mom. His Instagram account shared a photo on Wednesday with the caption, "We miss you more than ever."
